History
The Leibermuster was the last camouflage pattern developed by Germany during World War II.
Introduced in 1945, it featured a complex multi-color design with layered green, brown, black, and tan shapes intended to provide effective concealment across varied terrain. The pattern was notable for its sophisticated appearance and was designed to reduce visibility at both short and longer distances.
Because it was introduced very late in the war, Leibermuster saw only limited distribution and was issued primarily to selected army units. Despite its brief service, it is regarded as one of the most advanced camouflage patterns of the period and influenced several postwar camouflage designs, including patterns developed in West Germany and other NATO countries.
