History
The Grille Ausf. H was a German self-propelled artillery vehicle used during World War II. Built on the chassis of the Panzer 38(t) light tank, the Grille Ausf. H mounted a powerful 15 cm sIG 33 infantry gun, designed to provide heavy fire support to infantry units. Introduced in 1943, the "H" variant retained the original mid-engine layout of the Panzer 38(t), with the gun mounted at the rear in a lightly armored superstructure. Although it had limited armor and mobility, the Grille Ausf. H was effective in delivering high-explosive firepower in support of frontline troops. Around 200 units were produced before it was succeeded by the improved Ausf. K variant.
