History
The M1126 Stryker Infantry Carrier Vehicle (ICV) is a light armored, 8x8 wheeled combat
vehicle designed to provide fast, protected transport for infantry squads in modern
battlefields. It is part of the Stryker family of vehicles, developed by General Dynamics
Land Systems (GDLS) for the United States Army’s Stryker Brigade Combat Teams (SBCTs).
The M1126 Stryker was developed in response to the U.S. Army’s need for a highly mobile, networked, and well-protected vehicle capable of rapid deployment via C-130 transport aircraft. It is based on the Canadian LAV III, which itself is an evolution of the Swiss Piranha III armored personnel carrier. First introduced in 2002, the Stryker has been actively deployed in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, and other conflict zones, proving itself as a reliable and adaptable combat vehicle.
