History

The Marder III Ausf. H is a significant German tank destroyer developed during World War II, known for its adaptability and effectiveness against armored targets. Introduced in 1942, it was based on the Panzer 38(t) chassis, with the "H" denoting a rear-mounted engine (Heckmotor). The Marder III Ausf. H was designed to counter the Soviet T-34 and KV-1 tanks, equipping the Wehrmacht with a mobile anti-tank solution. It was armed with a 7.5 cm Pak 40/3 L/46 anti-tank gun, capable of penetrating up to 116 mm of armor at 1,000 meters, making it effective against medium to heavy tanks.

Powered by a 125-horsepower Praga EPA engine, the Marder III Ausf. H had a top speed of 42 km/h (26 mph) and a range of 190 km (118 miles), offering agility and versatility on various terrains. While its light armor (10 mm to 50 mm) made it vulnerable to enemy fire, its open-topped fighting compartment allowed for better visibility and quick engagement of targets. The Marder III Ausf. H played a crucial role in the Eastern Front, North Africa, and Italy, where it provided vital fire support in defensive operations, especially during the Battle of Kursk. Its adaptability and combat performance make it a key subject of interest for military historians and armored vehicle enthusiasts.

Marder 3

Very nice model. Great scaling, slightly fragile gun mount but to be expected with the size of the model
