History

The Marder III Ausf. M was a German tank destroyer used during World War II, developed as the final and most advanced version of the Marder III series. Based on the chassis of the Panzer 38(t), it was armed with a powerful 7.5 cm Pak 40 anti-tank gun, capable of defeating most Allied armor of the time. Introduced in 1943, the Ausf. M featured significant design improvements over earlier versions, including a rear-mounted fighting compartment, which offered better crew protection and a lower silhouette. While lightly armored, the Marder III Ausf. M was valued for its mobility, ease of production, and potent firepower, making it an effective anti-tank platform on both the Eastern and Western Fronts. Approximately 975 units were produced.
